Shri Rama Vidya Kendra, managed by Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Puttur, is a 15-acre rural educational institution located in Kalladka, Bantwala Taluk, Karnataka. The campus serves over 4000 students from rural and semi-urban backgrounds. In its commitment to sustainability and holistic education, the institution plans to set up a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to recycle wastewater and promote an eco-friendly campus environment.

Project Objective

Establish a 225 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant to recycle and reuse wastewater.
Conserve groundwater and reduce dependence on external water sources.
Promote sustainability by reusing treated water for agriculture, sanitation, and gardening.
Enhance campus hygiene and reduce environmental pollution.

Wastewater Collection Capture approximately 225 KLD of wastewater generated from 4000+ students and staff.
Treatment Process Screening, grit removal, equalization, biological treatment, clarification, disinfection, and sludge handling.
Water Reuse Treated water reused for paddy irrigation, toilet flushing, and gardening.
Sludge Management Solid sludge converted into organic manure for agricultural use.
